Here are 5 things happening in and around Victoria today!

Esquimalt’s Earth Day Celebration at Highrock Park

What: Earth Day is being celebrated with a community clean-up, planting and environmental awareness event at Highrock Park.
Several local schools will be participating with some 600 students pitching in. Activities for the students include invasive species removal, planting, trail building and nature walks.
Hungry goats will be assisting again this year with weeding out of invasive species on steep terrain too difficult to access by students.

GreenTara Initiation & Teaching

What: His Holiness Gongma Rinpoche, the 42nd Sakya Trizin, will be giving the initiation of  GreenTara.  Green Tara is a female Buddha.  She is the protector of all sentient beings.  Her green colour shows that she also protects the environment.

Movie Night at the Market: Jumanji – “Welcome to the Jungle”

What: Join us for our April Movie Night at the Market which will be our LAST Movie Night of the season, featuring “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle”.
Movie Night at the Market is FREE of charge! They ask that you make a donation of any amount to the featured local charity. Come early to have some dinner from the Market vendors, and get your spot! The regular Market chairs will be available, but it is encouraged that you to bring your own camping chair, fold up chair, since there is a limited number of seats available!

Phillips Comedy Night

What: The funniest night of the week is this Wednesday at The Mint! Each week Morgan Cranny and Drew Farrance bring the most hilarious comedian’s in the city together for a wonderful evening of fun at the best venue for stand up comedy in Victoria.

The Time of Things

What:  The Time of Things  proposes to challenge the binary of traditional and contemporary art. It considers the continuum of indigenous customary practices into contemporary indigenous art through the work of five women artists: Daphne Boyer, Maureen Gruben, Susan Pavel, Skeena Reece, and Marika Echachis Swan.
