Canada is on fire and it might be enough to melt the ice!

Alex Beaulieu-Marchand added to the medal count last night, making history with a brilliant performance in the Slopestyle Ski event.

This is Canada’s first ever medal in this event. Marchand told the National Press that he was happy with his performance, saying that “It’s cool that I got the bronze medal, but I’m just more happy about how I skied.”

Beaulieu-Marchand was only one of 12 skiers to put together three clean runs. He was beat out by Norway’s Oystein Braaten who won the gold, and American Nick Goepper who finished with the silver.

His fellow Canadian athletes were also close to the podium in this wild event. Teal Harle finished in fifth, and Evan McEachran finished right behind in sixth place.

Beaulieu-Marchand has also used his platform to promote someone else in his life: he wants his sister to find a boyfriend!

“She’s really nice, she has an MBA, she’s beautiful, she’s intelligent,” he stated the media. Plus: “She has a house”.

Wonder what his sister thinks of this little shout-out!
