Police nab two men breaking into a home in Saanich

Victoria police say they arrested two Esquimalt men caught in the act of a home burglary in Saanich.

It happened at a residence in the 200-block of Obed Avenue at about 6 p.m. on January 11.

VicPD officers were patrolling around Craigflower and Tillicum roads in response to recent property crimes when they spotted the two men acting suspiciously.

The officers followed the men to the residence on Obed Avenue where they were spotted breaking into the residence.

With the assistance of Saanich police and a Saanich police K9 unit, the two men were taken into custody.

Police are recommending charges of two counts of breaking-and-entering and two counts of possessing break-in instruments.
