Teen driver fled scene after crashing SUV down embankment at Clover Point

A 17-year-old teen received over $1000 in fines after a car he was allegedly driving was found down an embankment at Clover Point on Saturday night.

Several VicPD officers attended Clover Point at around 11:00 p.m. after a vehicle was seen crashing through a metal barrier and going down an embankment.

The two occupants quickly fled the scene before police arrived.

Police were able to identify the driver of the vehicle who did not have a driver’s license.

He returned to the scene and was issued several tickets including not having a driver’s license, failure to remain at the scene of an accident and driving without due care and attention.

The other occupant of the vehicle was also located. No injuries were reported.
