UPDATED: Missing 13-year-old Nanaimo boy found

UPDATED: Nanaimo RCMP has found the 13-year-old male reported missing from Nanaimo on Friday January 19th. He is safe and sound.

The Nanaimo RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a missing 13-year-old boy named Chaas Mearns.

Mearns has not been seen or heard from since Friday, January 19th and does not have a cell phone or access to money, other than what little amount he may be carrying.

He is described as a Caucasian boy standing 4’10” tall and weighing 96 lbs. He has blonde hair and green eyes.

Chaas is a healthy 13-year-old with no medical conditions. He has relatives all over Vancouver Island and Saskatchewan but has not contacted anyone yet.

His family members and support network are extremely worried about his safety.
