70 km/h wind gusts expected to hit Greater Victoria today

Share

It looks like Victoria won’t be narrowly avoiding yesterday’s wind warnings for Vancouver Island after all.

Earlier today, Environment Canada issued a special alert, stating that “southeast winds of 70 km/h will develop near Georgia Strait this morning and near Haro Strait late this morning as an intense Pacific frontal system approaches Vancouver Island.”

Be careful out there…

The weather agency is warning people to be wary of loose branches and objects flying around.

Road conditions could also be potentially risky, so be prepared to adjust your driving patterns as well.

The winds are expected to slow down this evening.
