Residents of Victoria are full of anticipation regarding whether or not Mayor Lisa Helps will run for a second term in 2018.
She is expected to announce her decision on January 1st at 1 p.m.
Helps unseated former Mayor Dean Fortin in 2014 with an 89 vote difference of 9,200 votes to 9,111 votes. She also defeated six other candidates.
The next B.C. general local election will take place in Victoria on October 20th, 2018.
Voter turnout for the last election was 39.10 percent.
