Environment Canada issues snow alerts for parts of Vancouver Island this week

Share

Victoria might soon become a veritable fairy tale winter wonderland – but only for one night.

This morning, Environment Canada announced colder temperatures and snowfall for East Vancouver Island and Victoria starting Tuesday, due to a deepening low pressure system.

They anticipate a break in the precipitation on Tuesday night and throughout Wednesday, which will give the snow some time to melt away.

But an Arctic front might bring the flurries back on Thursday, and Friday night lows are expected to fall between -5 and -10 degrees.

So make sure you’re dressed nice and warm, and have switched over to winter tires!
