When it comes to beaches, Vancouver Island natives swear by the ones in Tofino – and for good reason!

Although British Columbia is home to some of the best beaches in the country, travel experts agree that no mainland beach can compete with Tofino’s Long Beach.

Flight Network’s first ever ranked list of best beaches in the world, just came out and Long Beach was the only Canadian beach to make it!

It’s our own little slice of paradise on earth

Ranked at #38, this 10 mile strip of pristine protected coastline also boasts a spectacular view of the rocky mountains on one side and dense emerald rain forest on the other.

Flight Network’s travel professionals give Long Beach a 9/10 for sheer untouched beauty, and its not difficult to see why.

“This gorgeous stretch of northern sand offers a lush coastal rainforest, pounding surf, lively tidal pools, and unobstructed sunsets,” says Vancouver-based travel writer, David Webb.

“It is an ideal place to ride waves, beach-comb, storm watch, and forget the world for a while.“
