This weekend, a forum of past and present leaders will be assembling in Victoria to discuss ideas for the future.

According to a CHEK News report, the open forums are called “The next 150: Mindful of our past for a better future”, and the panel will be discussing topics like the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, and efforts to resettle Syrian refugees across Canada.

The delegates present in the discussions include former Prime Ministers Kim Campbell and Paul Martin, who will be joining Assembly of First Nations National Chief Perry Bellegarde and Indspire President & CEO Roberta Jamieson.

The forum will be moderated by Anna Maria Tremonti, host of CBC Radio’s The Current, who will steer the conversation to spark ideas about the future of diversity and inclusion in Canada.

There will be several meetings throughout the weekend, commencing with the first one at the Victoria Conference Centre on Friday (November 17th) at 3 PM.

The panel will continue their meetings on Saturday and Sunday mornings at the University of Victoria.
