Nanaimo RCMP looking to identify Vancouver Island University bike thieves

In the past two weeks, there have been 5 reported thefts of bicycles at Vancouver Island University (VIU) and it is believed two males may be responsible for a majority of these thefts.

In each incident, the bikes were locked however bolt cutters or other tools were used to snap the chain lock.

Several bikes were also registered with the 529Garage app, a community-based bike registration and recovery service.

The pictures released by the Nanaimo RCMP depict two male suspects riding off with bikes stolen on Friday, November 3rd.

The male suspects are both white and in their early twenties.
