In the past two weeks, there have been 5 reported thefts of bicycles at Vancouver Island University (VIU) and it is believed two males may be responsible for a majority of these thefts.

In each incident, the bikes were locked however bolt cutters or other tools were used to snap the chain lock.

Several bikes were also registered with the 529Garage app, a community-based bike registration and recovery service.
