If you’re in James Bay, check out the new buildings coming up behind the B.C. legislature.

This massive undertaking is the Capital Park project, which has been constructing several new residential and commercial buildings spanning almost one block from Superior to Michigan, and Menzies to the Queen’s Printer on Government Street.

According to a report by Times Colonist, a new five-storey office building on Superior Street is currently being used by the 700+ employees of the Ministry of Environment and Ministry of Children and Family Development.

Construction on second five-storey building on Superior is being started right away to be used by employees in the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resource Operations and Rural Development. It is expected to be completed in 2019.

Over on Menzies Street, a four-storey building with 53 rental units is being used by residential tenants, while the ground floor will be housing a new branch of the Greater Victoria Public Library and a market store.
