Caring With Cookies to bring baked goods to the less fortunate for 10th year running

Share

‘Tis the season of giving, and what better way to celebrate than by sharing some baked goods with the less fortunate.

That’s exactly what Caring With Cookies plans to do, going into its 10th consecutive year providing Christmas cheer to those less fortunate or down on their luck on Vancouver Island.

Created by Stacy Middlemiss, the program started in 2008 with just a single shelter and has now grown to become an Island-wide tradition.

A couple of years ago, Middlemiss’s work was even featured on Live with Kelly and Michael!

How does it work?

You bake a few dozen cookies; CWC bags them in individual packages and delivers them to several shelters around the island.

In 2016, 1400 packages were delivered to 20 different shelters/organizations!

You can donate cookies from December 1st to December 20th at one of the designated drop-off locations

Drop-Off Locations:

Lake Cowichan – Patricia Thomson Notary Public 92 Cowichan Lake Rd

Duncan – Cowichan Sound & Cellular 951A Canada Ave

Ladysmith – Uforik Computers 410B First Avenue

Nanaimo – Island Savings Woodgrove Centre

Mill Bay – Mill Bay 2 for 1 Pizza 2690 Mill Bay Road

Victoria – ERM Consultants 101-770 Cormorant Street (8:30-5:30 Monday-Friday)

For more information, or if you can’t make it to a drop-off location and would still like to donate, contact stacymiddlemiss@gmail.com or call 250-419-1473. Hopefully, 2017 will mark the biggest cookie collection yet!
