Share

It’s the 312th day of the year and the second last before another weekend! From a beer launch event to a perogies-filled indoor market, there’s something to make day 312 a winner!

A Brush With Nature

  • What: Guests are invited to an after-hours exploration of the Robert Bateman Centre art gallery featuring works by world-renowned Canadian nature artist Robert Bateman. Sip on beverages by local wineries and craft brewers, and nibble on delicious hors-d’oeuvres as you tour the facility. Take an up close and personal look at biofacts like mounted raptors (not live), turtle shells and caribou antlers to learn about the fascinating wildlife of British Columbia from our very own biologists who have worked with animals around the world.
  • Where: Robert Bateman Centre, 470 Belleville St.
  • Time: 5:00pm – 7:30pm.
  • Cost: $75, 19+.

Lighthouse Brewery Launch Event

  • What: Get smacked in the taste buds with Lighthouse’s latest brew, Depth Charge. This Oak Aged Belgian Quad with Cognac packs a punch with a 9% AVB, and has hints of caramel and oak. Give it a whirl!
  • Where: Tudor House Liquor Store, 533 Admirals Rd.
  • Time: 4:00pm – 8:00pm.
  • Cost: Free!

Shadow Kingdom

  • What: The Shadow Kingdom is a brand new show done in the cinematic shadow puppetry style of the hit show Space Hippo but aimed at young people and the young at heart. The show deals with the modern-day phenomenon of FOMO (fear of missing out), one of the leading causes of sleep depravation, which in turn is hurting our dream life and imaginations. This is a problem that affects people of all ages but is harming children the most. Our hope with this show is that the kids who watch it will be inspired to spend less time on their phones and more time dreaming!
  • Where: Intrepid Theatre Club, 2-1609 Blanshard St.
  • Time: 7:00pm.
  • Cost: $15 for adults, $10 for children. Available at ticketrocket.co

Comedy Lab

  • What: In this new stand up comedy presentation Dr Paul McKinnon invites a slew of well seasoned and extremely delicious comics to perform routines they have never tried before! Prepare to have your mind blown, and imagination expanded as you enter the COMEDY LAB!
