UVic students hosting charity Super Smash Bros tournament today

This Friday, October 6th, the University of Victoria’s Super Smash Bros. 4 Club is getting into the Thanksgiving spirit and hosting a charity tournament.

The price of entering is a minimum of one non-perishable food item that, at the end of the night, will be donated to a local food bank.

The tournament welcomes players of any and all skill levels. It is recommended you bring your own controller.

Thanksgiving Tournament a chance to give back

“We are a very inclusive group of individuals, ranging from high school students to adults establishing careers,” said Cameron T. Simo, a representative of the club. “We all come together every Friday and do weekly tournaments.”

While the club’s regular tournaments involve cash prizes, splitting the price of admission between the winners at the end of the night, this Friday’s event will be different.

“We want to give back to the community and include as many people as we can in this event,” said Simo.
