90 km/h wind gusts expected to hit Greater Victoria Tuesday morning

A wet and windy week is in store for much of Greater Victoria this week.

Earlier today, Environment Canada, issued a special statement  stating “a strong and mild southwesterly flow from the Pacific is maintaining a frontal zone over central coast, [moving] southward today [and] spreading a significant amount of rainfall over the south coast tonight.

The precipitation will taper off on Tuesday, only for a second storm system to arrive on the south coast early Wednesday.

Wind Warning 

Environment Canada has now issued a wind warning for Greater Victoria.

The weather agency said an intense cold front will cross the south coast Tuesday morning. As the front passes, strong southeast winds will shift abruptly to the southwest with gust to 90 km/h. Winds will gradually abate Tuesday afternoon.
