Quadra at Cloverdale
Quadra Street was closed from Cloverdale to Tattersall for several hours early Monday morning following a rollover crash that occurred around midnight.
In the early hours of Monday morning, a Saanich Police Patrol Officer witnessed a man realize the consequences of reckless driving in real time.
Just after midnight, the officer was stopped at the intersection of Tattersall Ave and Quadra St, about to turn north onto Quadra St, when he noticed a vehicle north bound on Quadra St fast approaching the intersection.
From Sidewalk to Bushes
The vehicle appeared to brake hard, before mounting the sidewalk, flipping onto its roof and coming to rest in some bushes in front of a home.
The officer immediately attended to the driver, who was the only occupant of the car. Both the Saanich Fire Department and BC Ambulance Service were then called in to attend to the driver.
The driver, a 23-year-old man from Victoria, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries and arrested for dangerous driving. He’s since been released on a Promise to Appear with a first court appearance at the end of October.
