Port McNeil RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating missing Twyla Roscovich.

Roscovich, 38, was last seen at a bank in Campbell River last Thursday but friends and family have not heard from her since.

Police said the photographer sent a text message saying she would be camping near Nanaimo in her car.  Her green Volvo station wagon was found Wednesday in Campbell River near the Quadra Island ferry.

Roscovich’s cellphone sent a signal through a cell tower from Quadra Island on Sept. 7, but has gone dead since then. She last connected with friends on Wednesday, Sept. 6.

Family and friends have posted the following update on Facebook: “Special attention should be paid to the beaches and trails to the south and to the north of Campbell River. There is also a chance that she travelled to Quadra or Cortes and the beaches, trails, and camping spots on those islands should be checked as well.”

Campbell River RCMP and B.C. Ferries staff are assisting in the search.

Roscovich is described as Caucasian, 5’9, 161 lbs, with blue eyes and brown hair.

Police are asking anyone with information about her whereabouts to contact their local RCMP detachment.
