Cascadia Bakery to close down after 28 years in Victoria

Share

One of Government Street’s longest-serving bakeries will close this month. Cascadia Bakery announced on Facebook that after 28 years in Victoria, on September 15th, its doors will close for good.

The news prompted heartfelt comments from plenty of customers, lauding everything from Cascadia’s baking and coffee to its workers and paint jobs.

“We have been fortunate to have the very BEST guests come through our doors over the years, which makes saying goodbye especially hard,” read the Facebook post. “Home is definitely where the heart is, and we have found home here, with all of you. It has been our absolute pleasure to serve you over the years.”

Replacement unknown, but likely another Bakery or Cafe

Though the absence is sure to be felt by employees and customers alike, not all hope is lost.

The space vacated by Cascadia will be filled with a new cafe/bakery. However, more details about the name, owners, or style remains to be seen.
