United through the challenges of a smoldering province, British Columbians donated a record-breaking $417,675 to the Red Cross BC Fire Appeal through BC Liquor Stores.
The donations were collected over an eight-week period, from July 10th to August 31st, and supported the immediate needs of evacuees with emergency food, water, and shelter.
According to Blain Lawson, general manager and CEO of the Liquor Distribution Branch, the donations were able to assist 4,700 vulnerable families who were hit hardest by the fires.
