Victoria police issued an alert Friday afternoon after a deer was found dead in the yard of a Esquimalt home believed to be killed by a cougar.
Police said there is reason to suspect it could be a cougar rather than another large animal.
The deer was found in the 600-block of Lampson Street, not far from where police had to shoot and kill a cougar only a few months ago.
