6:15 p.m. UPDATE: A fast-moving brush fire along Sooke Road is now 100% contained and firefighters are now dealing with small spot fires. The fire destroyed a small cabin. One man who was inside at the time of the fire made it out unharmed.
Sooke Road is expected to be closed for the next two to three hours.

Five local fire departments are currently battling an “out of control” brush fire burning beside Sooke Road.
Firefighting crews have been attending to the 4100-block of Sooke Road since approximately 3:30 p.m.
CTV Vancouver Island reports that the fire has grown to approximately 1km in size and damaged one structure.
West Shore RCMP confirmed they’re evacuating all homes in the area due to the blaze.
RCMP have closed Sooke Road in both directions and are advising motorists to avoid the area. According to DriveBC, a detour is available via Happy Valley Rd to Rocky Point Rd to Gillespie Rd.
