In a statement on the BC Liberals Facebook page, the former premier said she decided to resign as the BC Liberals’ leader this morning.

“I love our party and our province with all my heart – and it’s been the honour of a lifetime to serve as leader and premier,” she wrote.

Clark served as Premier from 2011-2017, leading the second half of the BC Liberals 15 years in power.

“Words can’t fully express my gratitude for your support these past six years and more,” Clark wrote. “You make our party strong, and our party will need you in the months and years ahead.”
