Two men have been arrested after police found a car full of stolen mail from across the province.

On May 27, West Shore RCMP responded to a suspicious vehicle parked in the 3100-block of Jacklin Rd. Once officers arrived, they found two men inside a 2017 black Mercedes-Benz, which was rented.

As police were conducting a separate investigation into a mailbox break-in, police saw one of the suspects and the same vehicle in video surveillance footage at an apartment on Peatt Road.

In the video, the suspect was seen prying open a community mailbox located inside the apartment and stealing the items inside.

A 29-year-old man from Burnaby and a 28-year-old man from Maple Ridge were arrested after being found in possession of the stolen mail, break-in instruments and controlled substances believed to be drugs.

The West Shore RCMP is working closely with other investigators as well as Canada Post to ensure the mail is directed back to its intended recipients.
