Hundreds line up for opening of John Fluevog Shoes in downtown Victoria

Hundreds of eager shoe shoppers line up on lower Johnson Street today for the grand opening of John Fluevog Shoes.

The Vancouver shoe designer once had a store here in 1972 on Broad Street beside Pagliacci’s but closed five years later.

Now they are returning, taking over the former American Apparel space at 566 Johnson Street.

“The lineup at their opening in Edmonton was a record until Victorians doubled it today,” said Mayor Lisa Helps on Facebook.
