There was a significant police presence on Wednesday afternoon at Fisherman’s Wharf after police received reports of shots fired.
The popular tourist area was cordoned off for the best part of three hours, and a heavy police presence descended on the scene, including members of the Emergency Response Team.
However, by the time police left at 7:00 pm, no firearm had been found, and only one “very cooperative” man had been taken into custody.
Police later released a statement saying there was no evidence a gun was fired, and the man was released a short time later without charges.
