A Value Village employee’s hand was crushed when he accidentally got it caught in a compactor machine on Monday while loading a couch into a compactor.
When firefighters arrived, they free his hand with hydraulic tools.
Thankfully, the machine stopped in time, so it was just his hand that was injured.
Victoria Fire acting chief told the Times Colonist the man’s hand was compressed, but not mangled.
He was transported to the hospital where he underwent emergency surgery.
