Nanaimo mom searches for late husband’s truck to drive son to his prom

A Nanaimo mom is searching for her late husband’s truck that he sold three years ago – before his death in 2014 – with hopes of borrowing or renting it for a short amount of time so that her son can drive it to his prom.

Jamie Easterbrooke posted an online ad on Friday explaining her situation and asking if anyone knew the whereabouts of a light-green pickup truck, which her husband Jeff sold shortly before he died of cancer.

She doesn’t know who it bought from her late husband other than that he lived in the Victoria area. She also isn’t sure of the make and model of the truck.

“My husband passed away of cancer three years ago, a few months after he sold this truck. My son is graduating, and I want to borrow/ rent the truck for half hour to take a picture with it and to drive him to his prom. He has so many memories of his dad in it, and I have no idea who bought it, but the guy was in Victoria, anybody recognize it?”

“It would be cool if we could find the truck so that Jaydon could take it to prom,” she said. “We just wanted to get a picture of him in his tuxedo with it,” Jami told Global News,

She hopes the current owner sees the ad and is willing to grant her family a favour.
