Police are investigating after the discovery of a body in Bowker Creek near Oak Bay Recreation.
A passersby reported seeing a body of a woman in the creek at around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Police don’t suspect foul play. However, a team of detectives and forensic identification services attended the scene to ensure a comprehensive investigation is completed.
The Independent Investigations Office (IIO) were also notified as it is believed the police may have interacted with the deceased female last night.
The area of Bee Street, between Cadboro Bay Road and the Oak Bay Rec Centre will be off limits to the public for several hours.
Access to the Rec Center can be gained using Goldsmith Street, off Foul Bay Road.
The Coroner Service is also assisting with the investigating.
