West Shore RCMP are investigating after a 10-month-old puppy was shot with a pellet gun on Wednesday in the Highlands.

The owners found their yellow Labrador named Ozzy injured and called 911. They took the dog to the veterinarian who confirmed he was shot at least 12 times.

“This attack not only left the puppy injured, but shook a whole community for this senseless act”, states Cst. John Varley of West Shore RCMP.

Police confirm Ozzy is doing well now.

Anyone who knows what may have happened to Ozzy is asked to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or Crime Stoppers.
