Head down to the Inner Harbour or along Dallas Road waterfront if you would like to get a glimpse of the new Victoria to Vancouver passenger ferry, V2V Empress.
The 254-passenger catamaran will be testing the waters starting today as part the vessels final approvals prior to the inaugural voyage on May 1.
Crews will be testing the vessel by undergoing maneouvres in the Inner Harbour and along the coastline off Dallas Road.
The vessel will also be stationed at the Steamship Terminal Building at certain points until the end of the week. V2V Vacations will do a trial run along its route between Victoria and Vancouver on Monday.
The first sailing of the V2V Empress is scheduled for 8 a.m. May 1, 2017. There will be a christening ceremony at the Steamship Terminal building on Saturday 29th April 2017.
