VicPD weren’t able to track down a cougar that was reported to them on Thursday morning.
According to police, they received a call about a cougar being spotted along Menzies Street at around 7:05 a.m.
Officers searched the area and didn’t find the animal, therefore being unable to confirm there is one in the area.

The last time a cougar was spotted in James Bay was in October 2015. Conservation officers and police tracked down a young male cougar as it leaped from yard to yard throughout James Bay.
Eventually, the cougar was tranquilized behind a Michigan Street apartment building in James Bay. It was then released into the wild near Port Renfrew.
