Police dog locates suspect wanted in a series of break and enters hiding in trunk of car

A suspect wanted in a series of break and enters to underground parking garages is in custody today after an alert citizen spotted him in the act.

Just before 3 am this morning, a building resident called police after noticing a man he recognized in previous police alerts, enter a parking garage in the 100-block of Kimta Road in Vic West.

Officers were initially unable to locate the man in the underground parking area, but the VicPD police dog sniffed him out in the trunk of a car.

The suspect had crawled in and locked himself in the trunk of the vehicle.

Police said he was taken into custody without incident.

The suspect has now been tied to many break-ins at underground garages thanks to numerous tips from the public.
