West Shore RCMP found themselves corralling pigs in Metchosin on Wednesday night, after the animals escaped a pen, after they were attacked by a bear.
Officers were called to the farm at around 11 p.m., to help the farmer with the round up.
Police were able to help corrall all the pigs into a secure pen, some too afraid to move after the attack.
Cst. Alex Bérubé said one officer had to physically get down in the mud to wrangle a large and stubborn pig who did not want to get back in the pen.
Hampered by darkness, deep mud and a heavy downpour, mounties and the farmer were able to corral and secure all the pigs after a considerable amount of time.
In the end, the farmer was happy with the end result, and All that was required at the end was a change of uniform for one police officer!
