Victoria police are investigating after a 55-year-old man was found with stab wounds on Government Street near Centennial Square early this morning.

Around 8am, a passerby called police after noticing a man sleeping in a doorway, bleeding from the abdomen and hand.
Police believe the man was stabbed sometime in the early morning hours, but went to sleep in the doorway.
According to the Times Colonist, the individual is a member of the street community, is Vietnamese and speaks little English.
Police state that he was transported to hospital with what were initially potentially life-threatening injuries. Just before noon, police updated that the injuries were no longer life-threatening.
A suspect has still not been taken into custody.
