7 tips for the Vancouver Island Corn Maze

Share

Pendray Farms did it again!  The Vancouver Island Corn Maze is the island’s biggest and most fantastic corn maze.  With 14 acres of maze and 10 kilometers of trails, you’ll spend a couple of hours with your group laughing, racing and decoding the path.  Here’s your go to guide for how to prepare for your journey.

7: When to go – Last year the maze saw over 15,000 people and are rumoured to double that number this year, so it’s going to be busy!  The maze is open Thursday – Sunday 1pm – 9pm, but your best time to go would be between 4-6 when crowds disperse for dinner.  The corn maze is open until Halloween this year.

6: Challenge Accepted – Tuesday and Wednesday the corn maze is open to groups by appointment only.  This is a great opportunity to take on your colleagues, your friends, your teammates or a friendly family feud by initiating a corn maze group challenge.  Email them at vicornmaze@gmail.com for details.

5: “I Got us tickets.” “I Love Tickets!” – $10 for Adults 13 and over, $5 for kids ages 5-12 and the under 5 crew is free… but the season passes have been flying off the shelves at $25 for adults and $15 for kids.  Tickets can be bought online or on site.

4: What to Wear – You’ll want your comfiest footwear (rain boots if it has been raining), as the average time through the maze is 2 hours.  Grab your raincoat, but also maybe a sunhat, because it’s Vancouver Island after all, and ya never know.

3: What to Bring – Baby carriers are best to use, although if you need to use a stroller, bring one with larger tires such as a running or jogging stroller to handle the terrain. The farm is substance free, so please leave alcoholic drinks and smokes at home.

2: Where to Go – Pendray Farms is located at 9537 West Saanich Road in North Saanich and parking is free.   You’ll see the signs for where to go once you’re there.

1: Kettle Corn is one of the best. things. ever. – Pendray Farms has the most incredible kettle corn for sale on site.  They start with “Magic Mushroom” corn kernels, which make the puffiest, fluffiest popped corn and then add in their secret kettle corn flavour mix.  It’s out of this world and you’ll need sustenance for your quest.
