A youth arrested for allegedly masturbating in front of a woman close to UVic last week, has been charged again after a sexual assault over the weekend.
On Saturday September 17, at around 4:30pm, a woman running in the area of Cadboro Bay Rd/Lauder Rd was approached from behind by a male riding a bicycle. The man reached out and grabbed her buttocks and rode away. Following this incident the woman called Saanich Police.
Saanich Police arrived at the location and were able to locate the suspect a short distance away, arresting the individual. The suspect is the same youth who was arrested on September 11, 2016 for a similar incident at the University of Victoria.
Police have recommended the he be charged with one count of Sexual Assault and one count of Breach of an Undertaking given by a Judge or Justice.
Saanich Police are still investigating other similar events in the area and may forward charges, to Crown Counsel, if the charge approval standard is met.
The youth was held in custody and will be appearing before the courts on September 19, 2016.
