Become a billet family for the WestShore Rebels

Share

The WestShore Rebels are looking for billet families for the 2016 season.

Organizers say they have some outstanding young men that may not be able to financially contribute a lot, but describe them as “great young men, organized, driven and focused student athletes.”

Some are leaving home for the first time and some are established students transferring into to play for the team.

“They are all on their way to growing their careers and opportunities for themselves. These players make great role models for any young student athletes you might have in your home,” West Shore Rebels Housing Coordinator, Alicia Gagne tells Victoria Buzz.

Adopt-a-Rebel Program:

Some players as part-time students have very limited cash flow and financial support and if a host or family is able, the Rebel Program appreciates partial support of these student athletes through discounted housing.  These programs are as follows:

  • Adopt-a-Rebel Billet: Players pay for room and ONE meal for discounted rate of $300 to $350.
  • Adopt-a-Rebel Room Rental: Players pay for room (NO meals) for discounted rate of $200 to $250.
  • Adopt-a-rebel volunteer: These young men just need a roof over their heads. They can provide their own food.

or:

  • Full Billet: Players pay for room and ONE meal a day and some family interaction and some (minimal) support from billet host/family.  Players usually pay around $500 to $600
  • Room Rental: Some players are just looking for a straight room rental (No meal option, etc.).  They do their own meals etc and just need access to a kitchen area etc. $350-$400

The room rental or billeting can be short term – Just 30 days or full season now through November. Some of these players will be staying longer to go to school, there is an option of keeping them longer.
