A staple restaurant on the corner of Burnside and Douglas Street has changed its name and overhauled the look inside.

The former ABC Country Restaurant located on Douglas Street has been transformed into Ricky’s All Day Grill.

The franchisees breathing new life into the established 3,595-square-foot eatery are Victoria residents Gary Marnewick and Darrel Crawford. Their redesigned and refurbished restaurant has 26 tables and a large outdoor patio.

Ricky’s originated as a breakfast restaurant in 1962. At that time, Ricky’s Pancake House was famous for their buttermilk pancakes and breakfast specials.

The restauranted expanded in the 1980’s to include a full lunch and dinner. As the new Ricky’s All Day Grill grew in popularity, the breakfast menu was enhanced to include contemporary items like eggs benedict, and the now famous brekkie-bowls.

The restaurant is part of the Ricky’s Group of family style restaurants which include Ricky’s Country Restaurant and Ricky’s Cafe.
