BC Transit have launched a new service for Victoria transit users called “Next Bus SMS.” With this feature, you can receive the schedule right to your phone by texting the six digit Stop ID (located on every bus stop, example: 100256) and the route number (example: 100256 11) to 11111 (five 1’s).
BC Transit say the new system compliments the website feature “Next Bus At This Stop” where you can find and enter your Stop ID online to receive the same information.
There are also two phone-in options for “Next Bus” information:
You can call the Transit Info Line at 250-382-6161 and add your Stop ID at the prompt, or you can talk to a Customer Service Agent from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays; 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Saturdays; and 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays or holidays.
