On the morning of Friday, December 25, 2015, people all across Canada will experience an event that hasn’t occurred since 1977. A full moon will appear in the skies over Victoria in time for Christmas. There won’t be another one on December 25 until 2034!
According to the weather forecast from Environment Canada, Christmas Eve is set to be rainy and Christmas day mostly sunny, so there is always the possibility the clouds will break enabling the moon to appear.
The moon will appear full the entire night, when it rises Christmas Eve until it sets Christmas morning, the exact time of when it will be the fullest is 11:12 UTC.
For Victoria that means:
Time of Moonrise: 4:17 p.m. Dec 24
Time of Full Moon: 3:12 a.m. Dec 25
Time of Moonset: 7:52 a.m. Dec 25
