In the Cards – A Trip to Psychic Song

Dear Victoria,

I’ll admit it, I’m a wuss.

I don’t like scary movies. I hate haunted houses. And I don’t know what a panic room is but nothing about it sounds appealing. In fact, I’m not so sure why anybody likes to be scared in the first place.   It’s like if I say “Hey! Wanna go grab a beer?” they would respond with “Nah, I’m going to try to have a heart attack and poop my pants at the same time.”

Which brings me to my Halloween post. I wasn’t sure what I was going to do, however there are plenty of haunted activities in Victoria. The haunted house from Evil Acres or the newly minted Horror Escape Room would provide something fun to write on, but I refer you to the wussification point made at the beginning of this piece. Then it dawned on me there might be a less spooky option. And then that’s when I found Andrea.

Andrea Zonnis owns and operates Psychic Song. She is a medium, tarot card reader, spiritualist and just a really nice person when you get to know her. So I decided to give it a try. I mean, how scary it could be to find out what I already know: that I’m going to win the NBA slam dunk competition while moonlighting as a billionaire crime fighter.

But first, I wanted to know more. How does someone become psychic? Why does Victoria seem to be a hot bed of hauntedness? Why aren’t all psychics millionaires? Andrea had answers and, thankfully, a great sense of humour.

I did end up getting a tarot reading and it actually was pretty accurate. Andrea was even able to see one or two things going on in my life that she would have no way of knowing as a complete stranger. Of course she did pull the “hermit” card for my future… so I  guess I have a lot of keeping wayward Frisbees and yelling at kids to get off my lawn in store.

So that’s my harrowing tale of Halloween survival. If you’re in the mood for some Halloween activities that don’t involve a P.J. Stock supported product, it’s a really fun way to spend an hour.
