Saanich Police are notifying the public of an indecent act, that took place on Wednesday, September 9, on the Lochside Regional Trail.

Around 5 p.m., two females (aged 25 and 28) were running together on the trail near the 5300 block of Cordova Bay road (close to Mattick’s Farm). An unidentified male, running in the opposite direction, pulled his pants down and exposed his genitals to both. He then continued northbound on the trail towards Hunt Road.

He is described as a Caucasian male, 35 to 40 years of age, approximately 6’1″ tall, heavy set build with a larger belly, and short brown hair. The suspect was wearing a dark coloured t-shirt and dark shorts.

There was no conversation between the suspect and the two victims, and the incident was reported immediately thanks to a cellular phone. Unfortunately, the male was not located nor identified.

“This incident serves as a reminder to those that may use locations, such as the regional trails, to be aware of their surroundings and to consider their personal safety” Sgt. Steve Eassie said.

“Travelling with at least one other person, and having a means of communication can significantly improve your safety”.

Anyone that may have information about the identity of the suspect is asked to contact Saanich Police at 250-475-4321 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS(8477).
